CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme – SSSTS 2 Day Course

Course Details:

This two-day CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, a supervisory role or responsibilities on a construction site.

The CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training course covers all relevant health and safety law and legislation, and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction, and civil engineering industries.

The SSSTS course highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

Pre-qualification criteria:

Delegates should be, or be working towards, the role of a supervisor. Delegates must be competent in English at site supervisor level to undertake SSSTS training.

Course Aims:

To help site supervisors to:

Supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role
Develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety, and welfare of workers on-site
Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive, and environmentally friendly.

Course Content:

Delegates taking the SSSTS course should be able to achieve all the learning outcomes listed below by the end of the course:

Module 1 – Legal and management
Module 2 – Health and Welfare
Module 3 – General safety
Module 4 – High-risk activities
Module 5 – Environmental awareness

Assessment:

Assessment will be by a multiple choice end-of-course examination. The delegate must pass the exam in order to achieve certification for this course.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the SSSTS course, delegates will receive an accredited CITB SSSTS certificate.
